This morning transfer to the airport for your flight to Victoria Falls. You are transferred to your luxury accommodations. Later this afternoon, sail upstream on a sunset cruise. As the sun sets, be ready with your binoculars to zoom in on the hippos cavorting in the river. Look out for the elephants as they make their way to the riverbank for their last drink before settling down for the night. (BLD)
Day 9 Victoria Falls
Enjoy Victoria Falls, hailed as one of the world’s Seven Natural Wonders. Keep an eye out for rainbows as you walk the misty rain forest trails of Victoria Falls. Then take a helicopter flight over the falls and be awed by their sheer size and grandeur from above. (BLD)
Day 10 Victoria Falls / Depart

Journey through the Burgundy region of France to the city of Dijon, filled with ancient architecture, ranging from the 15th century to the Revolution. Mustard lovers rejoice as you make a special visit to the Maille shop where you can taste several varieties of this liquid gold and the opportunity to take some home. Continue to Lyon, known as the Gastronomic Capital of France and to some, the world. With over 4,000 restaurants and home to famed chef Paul Bocuse, it’s no wonder Lyon is a gastronomic icon. Strolling through the maze of hidden courtyards, cobbled streets and hidden traboules with our local expert, you’ll step back in time to discover Lyon’s secrets. The World Heritage city was formerly home to ancient Gauls, powerful Romans, Gothic cathedral builders, and wealthy Renaissance silk merchants. You finish the evening with a mouthwatering three-course French feast, paired with local wine.
DAY 4 FLAVORS OF LYON
This morning immerse yourself in the very heart of the Les Halles Paul Bocuse covered market to discover the best of local cuisine. Strolling through the market with your Local Expert, you experience the best produce of the region and learn all about the Meres Lyonnaises. Here, you will enjoy multiple tastings. Next, you’ll join a local chef for a hands-on cooking class for lunch and wine to further your appreciation and understanding of the flavors in the region.
DAY 5 BEAUNE
Head to Beaune today, the wine capital of Burgundy with its 13th century walls and myriad of wine cellars. Our first lesson of wine on our journey is in the Musee du Vin. Our in-house guide will take you on a journey of wine, its history, and how it’s made. The rest of your evening is at your leisure to explore the taste and culture of the city.
DAY 6 BEAUNE WINE TASTING & SIGHTSEEING
Visit Clos de Vougeot, a wall-enclosed vineyard, (clos), in the Burgundy wine region. It is the largest single vineyard in Cote de Nuits entitled to a grand cru designation. The Clos de Vougeot vineyard was created by Cistercian monks of Citeaux Abbey and our in-house guide will show us around and walk us through tasting of three wines. A hospital foundation from the Middle Ages, the Hospices de Beaune, is one of France’s most prestigious historic monuments. Its flamboyant Gothic architecture, its polychrome roofs and a renowned vineyard make this museum one of Burgundy’s gems. The Hospices de Beaune is also famous for its 60 hectares wine estate, producing prestigious wines. The rest of the afternoon is yours to explore as you wish before enjoying an included dinner.
DAY 7 BEAUNE & VINAY
Departing Beaune, you will stop at Chateau de Mersault for a tour and taste some of the delicious wines crafted there for hundreds of years. Next, travel through vineyards to Epernay for a visit to one of the great champagne houses where you will discover the secrets of champagne production. This evening is yours to unwind and experience the French lifestyle as you settle into your countryside hotel in Vinay, in the heart of the Champagne region.
DAY 8 REIMS & CHAMPAGNE TASTING
Travel to Reims to meet your Local Expert this morning for a historic tour of the city and visit Reims Cathedral. This cathedral is where the kings of France were crowned and is recognized worldwide as one of the defining models of Gothic art. The cathedral hosted thirty-three sovereign coronations in just over 1000 years! Then visit another of the Champagne houses to taste more champagnes after a tour to learn the way they create this special bubbly. The rest of the day is yours to taste and explore more of this tasty city.
DAY 9 VINAY & PARIS
This morning after breakfast, travel back to Paris. Join a Local Expert for a sightseeing tour of this spectacular city. Drive along the Champs Elysees and view the Arc de Triomphe before we give you some free time with a hop-on hop-off bus pass. Spend a relaxing time seeing more sights or shopping for souvenirs before you end the day celebrating an epic adventure during a Farewell Dinner not to be missed.
DAY 10 DEPART PARIS
For now it’s time to bid a fond au revoir to France and your fellow travelers at the end of a magical and memorable holiday. Take the one group transfer to the airport or a private transfer at additional charge can be arranged.

Day 1 Edinburgh – Ullapool
Depart Edinburgh around 9 am. Your journey takes you north over the Forth Road Bridge to the charming highland village of Dunkeld on the banks of the river Tay. From here, head into Cairngorm National Park and the ancient pine forests of the Rothiemurchus Estate. Spend lunchtime on the beautiful shores of Loch Insh before a short forest walk takes you to the ruins of Loch and Eilein Castle. Panoramic views of Loch Ness follow as you travel down to the banks of the famous Loch and the village of Dores where you can do some Nessie spotting! Then it is on to the shores of Loch Broom where you will spend 2 nights in Ullapool. On some tours it may be necessary to stay in Inverness in which case the itinerary will be subject to slight changes.
Day 2 Ullapool (Northern Assynt)
Today, visit the far northwest Highlands and the grandeur, expanse, and wildness of the mountains of Assynt with its abundance of wildlife. This area is historically famous as being the first crofting area to be bought by the local crofters, the Assynt Crofters’ Trust. You will be immersed in the history of the area and visit the 15th century ruins of Ardvreck Castle, once the stronghold of the MacLeods of Assynt. The day is full of amazing views of some of Europe’s oldest landscapes from the stunning white sand beach at Achmelvich Bay to the traditional fishing village of Lochinver. With the chance of seeing wildlife such as whales and red deer as well, this is sure to be a memorable day. Overnight in Ullapool.
Day 3 Ullapool – Portree
Today, leave Ullapool heading south to take in the drama of the river Droma as it plunges 200 feet down into the Corrieshalloch Gorge. From here, travel past the mountains of the Beinn Eighe National Nature Reserve and along the picturesque coastline of Loch Torridon. The tranquil setting of Applecross is your destination for lunch before taking one of the highest roads in Scotland, Bealach nam Bo – meaning the Cattle Pass – with its jaw-dropping views, hairpin bends, and precipitous cliffs. In the afternoon, stop in Plockton where you can see palm trees growing alongside Loch Carron and take sone time to enjoy its sheltered serenity. Then it is over the sea to Skye and the delightful harbor town of Portree with its friendly welcome
Day 4 Portree (Skye)
Today is a very flexible day on Skye. There are many possibilities depending on the weather and your guide’s knowledge will come to the fore in developing the best day out for you. For example, you might travel north to the stunning Quiraing mountain pass and enjoy a spectacular walk through some of Skye’s extraordinary geological scenery or visit the Kilt Rock, composed of basalt columns – reminiscent of the pleats in a kilt – with its waterfall cascading over the cliffs and down into the sea below. After lunch, you can travel to Neist Point for a walk out to the lighthouse at the most westerly point on Skye. Alternatively, a visit to Dunvegan Castle, the ancient ancestral seat of the Clan McLeod, may be possible. Talisker Distillery is also on Skye, as are the famous Cuillin Hills. Return to your accommodation in Portree in the late afternoon and enjoy a free evening in the village.
Day 5 Portree – Edinburgh
Travel south from Skye, stopping first at the famous stronghold Eilean Donan Castle, used in the film Highlander, set at the head of 3 lochs as protection against Viking raiders. Continue east through the rugged mountains of Kintail including the splendor of the Five Sisters and drive down through Glen Garry past Britain’s highest mountain, Ben Nevis, then onto Fort William for lunch. In the afternoon, explore spectacular Glencoe, scene of the infamous massacre of the Clan Macdonald in 1692, before stopping in Killin for refreshments beside the Falls of Dochart, arriving into Edinburgh around 7 pm.

ARRIVE IN SYDNEY
A welcome package with a detailed itinerary, supplier contact list, various brochures of the destinations you will be visiting and any other touristic information that we deem you may find useful will be waiting for you upon arrival at the first hotel on your trip. A transfer in a private vehicle with a driver between the airport and city or hotel is provided.

SYDNEY // BUCKET LIST
After a hotel pick-up, you’ll drive through the historic Rocks precinct – Australia’s first European settlement – passing convict-built cottages and Australia’s first church before crossing Sydney Harbour Bridge. Following a short westbound drive, you’ll arrive at Featherdale Wildlife Park to get up-close with a range of native animals including kangaroos, koalas, wallabies, and wombats. Carrying onward, you’ll enter the Blue Mountains National Park, first stopping at a secluded clearing to enjoy morning tea. Roam the area in search of wild kangaroos and birdlife and then set off for magnificent Kings Tableland to bask in the incredible views overlooking the Jamison Valley. Break for lunch at a local café in the heart of the Blue Mountains, then track to Wentworth Falls, a beautiful waterfall found between Blue Mountains National Park and Kanangra-Boyd National Park. Next, you’ll hop into an awaiting vehicle and skirt around cliffs, driving towards the township of Katoomba. At Eagle Hawk lookout you will see the famous Three Sisters rock formation, marveling at the views of the Jamison Valley and then visit Narrowneck Plateau to enjoy a few more outstanding vantage points. Having discovered the essential highlights of the Blue Mountains, you’ll return to Sydney, arriving at your hotel at approximately 5:00 pm. Discover the mystery and majesty of Sydney Opera House on a shared guided tour of this iconic performing arts center. Become privy to the stories and secrets, some controversial, behind the commissioning and construction of Danish architect Jorn Utzon’s masterpiece and afterward, relax and enjoy a delicious al fresco lunch at the adjacent, Opera Kitchen where some of Sydney’s finest culinary treats are coupled with one of the world’s best views. Next, enjoy lunch at the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia, home to the famous Sydney to Hobart yacht race. Tour the historic North Head Quarantine Station, where migrants arriving to a new Australia were first sent if they had fallen ill during their sea voyage. Now transformed into a museum, the station chronicles this significant chapter in Australia’s heritage. Afterwards, enjoy a spot of afternoon tea before sailing back to the harbor. Immerse yourself in this truly authentic Sydney experience – a boat cruise, beach, nature, history, and lamingtons!

PORT DOUGLAS // VENTURE INTO THE OUTDOORS
Today you’ll travel through the rich farming areas toward the World Heritage listed forest region of the Daintree National Park. Step aboard our own personalized craft for a cruise on the mirrored smooth waters of the Daintree River, cruising close to riverbanks and under the overhead canopy of the rainforest seeking out the vivid Ulysses Butterfly, King fishers, Pythons, and other wildlife. Once you arrive at the Daintree section of the Wet Tropics World Heritage protected rainforest, your journey then takes you up the beautiful Alexandra Range passing through the local rain forest. Meet your local specialist guide for an informative tour of the Daintree Rainforest. The Grand Fan Palm gallery allows access into the heart of the world’s oldest surviving rainforest. A cathedral-like Amphitheater of towering fan-palms stands in the heart of the forest, protected beneath the canopy of old-growth rainforest giants and has been a sacred site for generations. You’ll then get to see unusual, exotic fruit originating from all over the globe’s tropical regions at the orchard which is also a host to beautiful species of tropical flowering plants, both native and introduced. Conclude your tour by taking in the outstanding panoramic view at Alexandra Range Lookout of the mouth of the Daintree River, Snapper Island and on a clear day Port Douglas. Embark on a day of both adventure and relaxation as you board a beautiful sailing yacht for a shared departure to the Coral Cays of Mackay or Undine Reefs, following the coastline for views of the Daintree Mountains. Once at the protected sites of Coral Cays, nature activities will include snorkeling over the pristine coral reef with a qualified marine biologist offering reef interpretation on a guided snorkel tour. A glass bottom boat coral viewing tour is also on offer. Embark on a half-day city tour of incredible Melbourne after meeting up with your private guide and driver at your hotel. You’ll first travel through the government precinct, observing the Treasury Building, Windsor Hotel, State Parliament House, Royal Exhibition Building and Melbourne Museum. Continue to the inner northern suburbs to enjoy the Bohemia of Fitzroy’s Brunswick Street, home to a vast array of pubs, bars, restaurants, record shops and local designer shops. Enjoy morning tea among the glorious colors and smells of the Botanical Gardens, where magnificent expanses of lush green lawn slope elegantly towards ornamental lakes and massive trees cast boughs of shade over manicured garden beds. Next, you’ll journey past the sporting precinct that became famous with the 1956 Olympic Games and now roars to the cheers of Aussie Rules crowds each weekend. See the nearby Rod Laver Tennis Centre that hosts the Australian Tennis Open each year as well as the world-famous MCG which has hosted most of the major events that have come to this city. Next, you’ll travel westwards to the historic Station Pier in Port Melbourne, a historic arrival point for Melbourne’s European immigrants. MELBOURNE // NURTURED BY NATURE
Enjoy a remarkable exploration of Melbourne’s wildlife in this family-friendly private-guided adventure. Meet your private guide and driver at your hotel before driving through beef and dairy cattle farms, horse breeding studs, and swampland. Enjoy afternoon tea en-route before crossing the bridge to Phillip Island. Recognized as a world leader for environmental conservation, Phillip Island’s sandy and rocky shorelines team with wildlife, including over 200 species of birds. On Phillip Island’s northern side, you can look out for masked lapwings, spoonbills, ibis, herons, and black swans. Your next visit is the Koala Conservation Center, one of the few areas in Victoria where you can see a protected koala colony. Walk among the treetops in nature reserve bush land and observe the wild marsupials within touching distance, perhaps also spotting a wild wallaby or two. Time permitting you’ll pass by Swan Lake, the island’s largest freshwater lake, and head to the ‘Nobbies’, a magnificent headland with views that stretch over Mornington Peninsula and Bass Strait. Just under one mile offshore are Seal Rocks, home to Australia’s largest Australian Fur Seal colony. You’ll witness the incredible Penguin Parade at dusk, where Little Penguins arrive in groups on the beach after their day of fishing. Watch as they waddle their way into the dunes where their burrow nests are situated. Observing and learning about penguin behavior and their daily routines is an amazing learning experience and a great memory for the whole family. Your evening finishes with dinner in the township of Rhyll before returning to Melbourne in the late evening.

DUBROVNIK // A WALK THROUGH THE PAST
Meet your private driver for a transfer into the city center of Dubrovnik, from where you’ll set out on foot with your private guide for a walking tour of one of the most beautiful stone-built cities in the world. More than a thousand-year history is reflected in every part of the town. As one of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Dubrovnik owes its special charm to the historic monuments which testify to its rich history. While strolling with your guide down Stradun, the main street, pause for a visit of the Franciscan monastery of the Order of Friars Minors, preserving one of the three oldest pharmacies in all of Europe. Continue down to the 15th century knight statue known as the Orlando Column, and the 16th century Sponza Palace, then visit the Church of St. Blasius, dedicated to the patron-saint of the town. You’ll also discover the medieval Rector’s Palace, the magnificent structure of the dukes of Dubrovnik, and the Cathedral of the Virgin Mary, home to originals by Tiziano and Rafaelo among other valuable relics. Afterward, you’ll part ways with your guide for some time at leisure to explore this stunning town on your own, allowing you to discover some local curiosities nestled in the intricate network of cobblestone streets. Perhaps take a walk along the city walls (1.5 miles around the old town), visit one of the numerous museums, or take a funicular ride to the top of Mount Srd. DUBROVNIK // HIDDEN GEMS

After your walk, the adventure continues to the countryside of Konavle. In the village of Cilipi, you will be welcomed by a local family on their humble rural estate of Bakicevo. Enjoy their hospitality in the unique ambiance of a traditional stone-built house. Your hosts will take you around their garden where they grow various sorts of vegetables in an old-fashioned way. The ingredients that will be used for your lunch today come from their garden. With the alluring scents of the local cuisine, your hosts will prepare the traditional Dalmatian specialty of Peka – food prepared under the iron bell, for you. DUBROVNIK TO KORCULA // WINDING THE WIND-SWEPT SHORELINES
Meet your chauffeur in the hotel for a private transfer to Dubrovnik Marina where you will board your private motorboat for a transfer to Korcula. En route you will stop in Mljet National Park where you can enjoy a self-guided exploration of the island and national park. KORCULA // ISLAND TIME
Meet your private guide and driver for a tour of the beautiful island of Korcula. Discover the island’s picture-perfect landscape of vineyards, olives fields, and old villages with typical Dalmatian’s stone houses. Wander inside its ramparts for a visit to the Cathedral of St. Marko, an architectural masterpiece in Gothic and Renaissance style. KORCULA TO HVAR // THE JOURNEY CONTINUES
Board a shared transfer by catamaran from Korcula to Hvar. Approximate travel time is 1.5 hrs. Set out with your private local guide to explore incredible Hvar. The adventure begins with a visit to the largest square in Dalmatia, previously bordered by gardens. The picturesque square is surrounded by grand palaces and beautiful historic edifices, such as the town loggia and the Gothic and Renaissance palaces. A stroll through the town’s narrow streets will reveal numerous other monuments, such as the Franciscan and Benedictine Monastery and the mighty Arsenal, a 13th century warehouse for the communal war galley that today houses the Hvar theatre – the oldest theatre in Europe dating from 1612. ARRIVE IN ROME

NAPLES & POMPEII
This morning you will go for a visit in the city of Naples to the National Archaeological Museum, one of the world’s most important museums which houses the treasures of Pompeii and Herculaneum. From there you will go to visit the ruins of Pompeii, which was destroyed completely by the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 AD. It was covered with hot lava because of its close proximity to the volcano and lay undiscovered until the 17th century. Pompeii was a Roman city, which existed at the time of Christ and was ruled by the same powers that ruled in the land of Jesus at that time. In this visit you will gain insight into daily life in Roman times and thus have new understandings of the prevailing culture at the time of Jesus.
DAY 3
AMALFI COAST
Today you will explore the wonders of the Amalfi coast, one of the most scenic drives you can take anywhere in the world. You will stop in Positano for a scenic photo opportunity on your way along the stunning coastline to Amalfi where you will have time for lunch. Afterward you will also visit Ravello before returning to Sorrento to for the evening. Dinner will be on your own.
DAY 4
ROME
Today after an early breakfast you will say farewell to Sorrento and begin the drive to Rome. Once in Rome, you will proceed to the catacombs, burial place and meeting place of the early Christians. They were forced to meet in secret, underground, to escape persecution during the time before Constantine. You will proceed to check in at your hotel and have time to settle in before dinner at a local restaurant.
DAY 5
ROME
This morning you will begin with a visit to St. Peter’s Basilica. This is Catholicism’s most sacred shrine and holds hundreds of precious works of art, some salvaged from the original 4th century basilica built by Constantine and others commissioned from Renaissance and Baroque artists. From there you will go to the Vatican Museum, home to the Sistine Chapel and Raphael Rooms, as well as one of the world’s most important art collections. These are housed in palaces originally built for Renaissance popes. Following your visit you will proceed to the church of St. Peter in Chains. At this church you will see Michelangelo’s statue of Moses, which alone makes a trip to Rome worthwhile. Tonight you will go to the famous Trastevere area where you will enjoy a special & typical Roman dinner.
DAY 6
ROME
Today you will be visiting Imperial Rome. You will go to the Coliseum, Rome’s greatest amphitheater, commissioned by Emperor Vespasian in 72 AD. It was here that the Romans watched as the early Christians suffered and died as they were thrown in the arena with lions and other wild animals. You will proceed through the Roman Forum, where you will see several ruined temples, triumphal arches, and basilicas. The Arch of Titus was erected in 81 AD to commemorate the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD. After your visit to the Forum, you will proceed to the famous Trevi Fountain, and on to the Piazza di Spagna, where you can climb the Spanish Steps. From here you will be on your own for a free afternoon of last minute shopping or additional sightseeing. Dinner will be on your own.
DAY 7
FLORENCE
This morning you’ll leave Rome on your way to Florence, the birthplace of the Renaissance, the artistic and cultural awakening of the 15th century. Along the way, you’ll stop at Orvieto to visit this charming town and the beautiful Duomo. Thomas Aquinas made Orvieto famous as a place of spiritual pilgrimage. The cathedral was begun in 1290 and the famous sculptures, reliefs and mosaics of the façade illustrate the way of salvation for the faithful. After lunch on your own you will proceed to Florence, to check in at your hotel and have the balance of the day free. Dinner will be at a local restaurant.
DAY 8
FLORENCE
This morning you will begin with a walking tour of Florence. During the time that the Medici family was powerful in this area (14th -16th centuries), Florence was at the cultural and intellectual heart of Europe. You’ll stroll along the Ponte Vecchio, the beautiful old bridge lined with shops spanning the Arno. You will then proceed to the Duomo, the spiritual, geographical and historical heart of the city. This cathedral is the fourth largest in Europe and is still the tallest building in Florence, as well as one of the oldest. We’ll see the Baptistery with it’s celebrated bronze doors by Pisano and Ghiberti, (Dante was baptized here), the Campanile, designed by Giotto in 1334, the great Dome by Brunelleschi and finished in 1463, as well as many other features and famous works of art at the Cathedral Works Museum near this amazing structure. After lunch on your own, you will visit the Galleria dell’Accademia. Founded in 1563, it was the first school established in Europe specifically to teach the techniques of drawing, painting, and sculpture. The most famous work on display is Michelangelo’s David, which established Michelangelo at the age of 29 as the foremost sculptor of his time. Dinner and overnight will be at a local restaurant.
DAY 9
FLORENCE
This morning you will begin with a visit to the world-renown Uffizi Gallery, Italy’s largest art gallery.
After your tour of this great collection, you will have the afternoon free to linger in the museum, to do some shopping, or just relax in your room or at a local café – you choose! Dinner will be on your own.
DAY 10
VENICE
This morning you will head to your final stop on your tour: Venice, one of the most the unique and charming cities of the world. You will enjoy seeing the city from the water as you experience a Gondala Serenade through the Grand Canal. Afterward, you will have dinner at a local restaurant before returning to the hotel for overnight.
DAY 11
VENICE
After breakfast, you will take a boat to the area of the Piazza San Marco, the pigeon-filled square dominated by the Basilica San Marco, the cathedral of Venice. According to tradition, during the 9th century, the Venetians stole the body of St. Mark, which was buried in Alexandria. They then proclaimed St Mark as their patron saint and in that way, they became linked to the origins and spread of Christianity. After the visit you will have free time to explore the markets and shops on the island before enjoying your Farewell Dinner on your final evening in this enchanting land.

FAREWELL
After breakfast, you will go to the Venice airport for your flight back to Houston to contemplate all you’ve seen and learned about the history of Christianity and the culture of Italy, ancient and modern.

Discover Princes Wharf, once a commercial wharf on the city’s waterfront, has now been re-developed into a dazzling hub of bars and eateries, looking out to Waitemata Harbor. Visit the NZ Maritime Museum and learn of the early arrivals to the country, from early Polynesians to the Europeans. Meander through the entertainment district of Viaduct Harbor, home to buzzing nightlife and gourmet experiences. Stroll through Auckland’s entertainment district, Wynward Quarter for gorgeous skyline views and head just a few minutes east to explore the city’s famous Laneways and the Britomart Pavilions, a chic hub for fashion and eateries, ideal for treating your palette to a sweet treat or adding a new accessory to your wardrobe. AUCKLAND TO ROTORUA TO WAITOMO CAVES
This morning you will meet your private driver guide in the lobby of your hotel and begin your scenic journey from the city of Auckland to Rotorua. En-route the transfer will visit the Waitomo Caves that are famous for their glowworms. Lunch and entrance fees are not included. The transfer takes nine hours, depending on the type of touring in Waitomo.
Admire the shimmering spectacle of Footwhistle Cave, home to a stunning glowworm display within the largest cave found in Waitomo. Led by your knowledgeable private guide, you’ll enter this fascinating cave and learn of its rich history while viewing a magnificent display of the bio-luminescent insects, some mere inches away from you. Meander around the cave’s corner to discover the remains of one of New Zealand’s lost treasures – the ancient Moa, once the country’s largest bird that fell extinct almost 600 years ago. Experience the soothing sounds of the cave’s stream flowing below you in the darkness, as low lights cast a warm glow over stunning limestone formations of stalactites and stalagmites. After enjoying a relaxed stroll through the cave, you’ll take a seat in Footwhistle’s cathedral for a short but breathtaking show as the cave is illuminated by a dazzling magnesium torch. Just outside of the cave’s entrance, a traditional Ponga hut offers a special tea tasting featuring kawakawa, a special herb to the Maori often used as a health tonic. A memorable experience for all, this glowworm cave adventure offers a relaxed atmosphere in which you can see how nature truly shines.

DAY 4
ROTORUA // CULTURAL IMMERSION
After an early morning pick-up, journey through the forests and farmlands outside of Rotorua en route to Wai-o-Tapu, host to New Zealand’s largest boiling mud pool, colorful hot springs, and the world-famous Lady Knox geyser, which – with luck – you’ll watch erupt before your eyes. Next, you’ll set off to Waimangu Thermal Valley where your experienced guide will provide details relating to the massive eruption of Mount Tarawera in 1886 and its long-lasting effects on the local environment while exploring the exotic, seemingly lunar landscape. This tour departs at 8:00 am, takes approximately four hours and 30 minutes to complete, and operates with a maximum of 15 guests.
A representative of Te Puia will pick you up from your hotel this evening for a Maori Hangi dinner and cultural concert. Begin the experience with Te Po; an intimate time for sharing knowledge while enjoying food, culture, and friendship. Taking place at Te-Heketanga-a-Rangi (The Heavenly Origins), which is an area comprising of twelve monumental carvings reaching skywards – each one representing a Maori deity – you’ll hear the stories of the past and see how these traditions live on today. Feeding guests is regarded by Maori as an honor and a sign of a tribe’s Mana (standing), and as a result, you can expect a lavish banquet meal during the evening. This meal combines contemporary cooking techniques with traditional Hangi (earth-cooked oven meal), where Kai (food) is steam-cooked by hot rocks in the earth, giving it a delicious smoky flavor. Following dinner, you will be returned to your hotel.
DAY 5
ROTORUA TO QUEENSTOWN
A privately driven vehicle will provide a transfer between the airport and hotel today.
Board a flight in Rotorua with service to Queenstown. Please note that your flight will require a connection. Approximate flight duration is three hours and 35 minutes. This flight is not included in the price and must be purchased separately. Meet your driver for a private airport transfer.
This evening, consider dining at one of Queenstown’s many excellent establishments. For a fine dining experience, we recommend Botswana Butchery, Rata or Eichardt’s Bar. For something quick and casual, Ferburger is a local favorite.
DAY 6
QUEENSTOWN // CHASING WATERFALLS
Today you will be picked up from your hotel and travel from Queenstown along the shores of Lake Wakatipu, through the scenic rolling countryside to Te Anau. After a short break at Te Anau, continue via the spectacular Milford Road to Milford Sound. Here you’ll board a vessel that hosts up to 150 guests, features three viewing decks, and embark on a relaxing cruise of Milford Sound. The cruise provides excellent opportunities to take in the incredibly scenery of waterfalls, rainforest, mountains and wildlife, all while an on-board naturalist guide provides insights into the region throughout the journey. After the cruise, settle in for a coach transfer to Milford Airport to board a twin-engine aircraft for the return flight to Queenstown (weather permitting). During this 35-minute scenic flight, take in panoramic views of the spectacular alpine scenery as you return to Queenstown.

LISBON
Depart Lisbon for a scenic coastal drive, spotting several sandy beaches hidden within the cliffs, protected by 17th-century fortresses along the coast. Visit the beautiful resort town of Estoril, known as the home of Casino Estoril and Hotel Palácio, former rendezvous points for WWII spies and their handlers at a time when Portugal remained politically neutral. Stroll the Tamariz Beach promenade, admiring the 17th-century Forte da Cruz castle, set behind a backdrop of palm trees. Continue to Cascais, a small fishing village transformed into a luxurious resort town on the Portugal Riviera. Pass through its animated town center and witness cosmopolitan life amid stunning Atlantic beaches. Next, head to Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of continental Europe, and gaze out over the Atlantic from the end of the world. Sintra, home to hundreds of years of history and culture, awaits your discovery. After a short walk in the old city center, find yourself surrounded by old houses now converted into small quaint handicraft boutiques and traditional pastry shops. Ascend the mountain by shuttle for a visit to the 19th-century Pena Palace, Sintra’s undisputed highlight. PORTO
A private guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel to escort you on a half-day tour of Porto and its historic city center, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Admire the exterior of the 18th century Porto Cathedral, one of Porto’s oldest monuments, followed by a panoramic viewpoint over the Douro River where you can take in views across to the city Gaia. Head to Batalha Square where you can spot the 18th century Batalha Palace, then walk Santa Catarina Street, the city’s main shopping street, buzzing with action. Head to Liberdade Square where the monument to King Peter IV is centralized within several beautiful neoclassical facades, and continue to see the Clerigos Church and Tower, dominating the city at 250 feet tall. Enjoy a skip-the-line visit to Livraria Lello, likely the world’s most stunningly beautiful bookshop, and the point of inspiration behind the Hogwarts library in the revered Harry Potter series. Venture to Ribeira Square, with its river view and three-story high monumental fountain, and if desired, speak with your guide about making an optional visit to Porto Wine Cellars for a wine tasting (payable on the spot). Conclude with a return transfer to your hotel.
DAY 6
PORTO
Set out with a private tourism driver on a full day discovery of the scenic Douro Valley. Head to Amarante, an important pilgrimage town, where you’ll visit the historic city center, spotting houses overhanging the Tamega River. Visit the 16th century Church of Sao Goncalo Monastery, its chapel home to the tomb of revered Dominican friar, Saint Goncalo. Enjoy the views as you continue through the picturesque Douro Valley, a rich agricultural area known for its wine production and distinct terroir. In Regua, take a walk along the Douro River and catch views of the terraced vineyards that line the riverside, then head to Pinhao for a visit of its famous railway station renowned for its iconic, blue-painted tiles. Over the course of your day, you’ll make visits to a pair of local wineries, where you’ll be treated to wine tastings of different local wines, as well as a locally inspired lunch. Conclude your day on arrival back to Porto. Note: alternate wineries may be used if required for availability purposes.

MADRID // EXPLORE WITH AN EXPERT
Meet your private guide and driver and set out on a half-day tour to visit a pair of Madrid icons, the Prado Museum and the Royal Palace. The Prado Museum is one of the most important art galleries in the world. Its main corpus is nourished by the royal collections treasured for centuries by different imperial dynasties. Together with Las Meninas de Velázquez and Goya’s May 3rd, 1808, the galleries are full of masterpieces from the Spanish, Italian and Flemish schools. After your visit to the Prado, you’ll continue to Madrid’s Royal Palace, visiting the largest palace in all of Western Europe. Built during the 18th century by Felipe V, the first king of the Bourbon dynasty, it is used in modern times by the Spanish Crown. As you visit, admire the official reception rooms, the museum area, the Royal Chapel, the Throne Room and the private rooms of King Carlos III and Queen Isabel II. SEVILLE // SIGHTS AND INSIGHTS
Meet your private guide and set out on foot for a walking tour today, visiting a pair of Seville’s most outstanding monuments: Seville Cathedral, and the Seville Royal Alcazar. Begin with a stroll around Barrio de Santa Cruz, formerly the Jewish quarter, and the most picturesque and delightful part of the city, with narrow winding cobbled streets and whitewashed houses. From there, head to the Seville Royal Alcazar, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, housing different palaces of various periods, and its gardens, which evoke its Muslim past. The upper levels of the Alcazar are still used by the royal family as the official Seville residence. Afterward, you’ll visit the largest Gothic cathedral in the world, the Seville Cathedral, also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and home to the tomb of Christopher Columbus. This Roman Catholic cathedral stands on the site of the 12th century Great Mosque, of which only the minaret remains. Locally known as “La Giralda”, it was converted to the cathedral’s bell tower in the mid-13th century.

SEVILLE TO GRANADA

Enjoy a shared tour as you visit the UNESCO world heritage site of the Alhambra palace and gardens. On a rocky hill, on the banks of the river Darro, protected by mountains and amongst the eldest quarter in the city, the Alhambra rises like an imposing castle with its distinctive reddish stone in its ramparts that prevent the outside world from seeing the delicate beauty enclosed within. Originally designed as a military area, the Alhambra became the residence of royalty and the court of Granada in the middle of XIII century. Throughout the XIII, XIV and XV centuries the fortress became a citadel which housed two main areas: the military area (or Alcazaba) and the medina (or court city) where Charles V Palace was built after the city was taken by the Catholics. The complex of monuments also has an independent palace opposite the Alhambra; The Generalife, which is surrounded by orchards and beautiful gardens which you will also visit.

GRANADA // BUCKET LIST
The region of Guadix presents a fascinating physical geography of striking contrasts lying, as it does, between the Sierra Nevada, snow-capped in winter and spring, and the fringes of one of Europe’s few deserts. In this lunar-like landscape, caves have long been used for human habitation. In the nearby city of Guadix we’ll discover that cave dwellings are home to some 3000 people, concentrated in the Barriada de las Cuevas – a warren of cave houses built into the hillside forming a singular urban and social landscape. You will walk up to a lookout point which affords superb views over the city and its eclectic Gothic-Renaissance-Baroque cathedral and imposing Moorish castle. You will visit a unique cave house in the small town of Purullena. Part museum, part family residence, its owners have opened their home to visitors, and are proud to demonstrate some of the surprising advantages of living “underground”. Includes entrance fee to the Cave House Museum.
